Customised Pencils for Businesses with Your Logo

Customised pencils for businesses are the entry-level option in stationery: a graphite pencil with single-colour marking ranges from €0.20 to €0.50 per unit. They are made from linden, cedar or poplar wood, with an HB graphite core and a body measuring 17.5 to 19 cm, allowing for a marking area of about 50 × 5 mm. At Pekata, production starts from 25 units, and you can see the pencil with your logo applied before approving anything.

Natural wood pencils with a company's logo engraved on the body

Wood, HB Graphite and a 50 × 5 mm Marking

Graphite doesn't dry out or jam. A pencil stored in a drawer for two years writes immediately and lasts until the end, which is exactly what you want from a branded item. The standard hardness for promotional items is HB, the midpoint of the European scale, which ranges from 2H (harder and lighter) to 2B (softer and darker), with a 2 mm diameter core. This makes it suitable for training sessions, conferences, construction sites, and any desk where notes are taken and corrected.

Typically, the body is hexagonal, with a diameter of 7 to 8 mm and a length of 17.5 to 19 cm. Each face of the hexagon provides about 4 or 5 mm of usable height, so the typical marking is a band of about 50 × 5 mm: it fits a horizontal logo and little else, so a single-line version is advisable. The wood can be varnished in colour, left natural without varnish, or finished in matte. If you prefer ink, the direct sibling of this page is customised pens for businesses, and the entire family is available in customised stationery and desk items.

What Can Be Customised

  • The body: natural wood without varnish, varnished in the corporate colour, in matte black or bicolour with a dyed tip.
  • The marking: pad printing or screen printing in one or two colours, hot stamping in gold or silver, and laser engraving, which leaves a toasted tone on wood without adding ink.
  • The top finish: bare tip, aluminium ferrule with an eraser in your chosen colour, or a dyed head to match the logo.
  • The delivery format: loose pencil, set of colours in a printed cardboard case, or kit with a notebook inside a welcome pack for businesses.
  • The sustainable version: wood from controlled sources, body of rolled recycled paper, or plantable pencil with a seed capsule, part of the eco-friendly merchandise line.

How It's Done

  • Design and Preview. You choose the model, wood colour and finish, send us the logo in vector format (SVG, PDF or AI), and we return the pencil assembled on screen with the marking at actual size. If you only have a PNG, we vectorise it. Nothing goes into production without your approval.
  • Production and branding. Available from 25 units. Short runs use pad printing or laser; larger runs benefit from screen printing or hot stamping. On a 7 mm body, the logo is significantly reduced, so we adjust line thicknesses and avoid gradients to ensure the text remains legible.
  • Delivery. To your office, the event venue, or each person's home, in Spain and across Europe. Each employee provides their address on the portal, so HR doesn't collect data. A single invoice, with the breakdown administration needs.

Where They Fit and What They Pair With

The classic setting is the table: internal training, open day, meeting room or stand with a notebook beside it. At €0.20-0.50 per unit, a thousand pencils cost between €200 and €500, making them ideal for bulk distribution rather than individual gifts. Alone they don't stand out, but at a trade show, they work well alongside a notebook and other event, trade show, and conference merchandise.

The second use is the kit. A pencil with a recycled notebook inside a Pekata box, with a band, label, and card featuring your brand, serves as a welcome for new joiners or a gesture in a client campaign. Each person chooses what they want on the portal, in their language, and HR doesn't collect addresses or sizes. If the distribution is annual, the pencil fits as filler in the January shipment alongside the calendar: at that price, the cost of the pencil is marginal compared to transport.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a customised pencil with my company logo cost?

A hexagonal graphite pencil with single-colour branding ranges from €0.20 to €0.50 per unit. With an eraser and aluminium ferrule, it costs between €0.30 and €0.70, the plantable version with seeds between €0.70 and €1.60, a set of 6 or 12 coloured pencils from €1.20 to €3.50, and an engraved aluminium mechanical pencil from €2 to €6. These are indicative prices, excluding VAT, with the logo already applied; they improve with volume.

Is there a minimum order for logo pencils?

The minimum order is 25 units: you can order 50 pencils for a training day or 20,000 for a conference. What changes with quantity is the price and technique: below a few hundred units, we use pad printing or laser, and from several thousand, screen printing or hot stamping is more cost-effective, as the cliché cost is spread over more pieces.

How long does it take from design approval?

With a catalogue model and single-colour branding, expect two to three weeks from design approval. If the pencil has a specific colour varnish, custom printed case, or seed capsule, add one or two more weeks. These are approximate timescales: if you have an event date, let us know at the start, and we'll adjust the model and technique to the schedule.

Which branding technique lasts best on a wooden pencil?

For a logo in 1 or 2 colours, pad printing is standard and most economical on varnished wood, over a usable area of about 50 × 5 mm. Laser engraving performs better on unvarnished natural wood: it burns the surface, leaving a toasted tone that doesn't wear off. Hot stamping in gold or silver is reserved for short branding, 30 to 40 mm, and understated finishes.

Can sustainable or plantable pencils be made?

Yes, in three ways: unvarnished wood from controlled sources, rolled recycled paper body, and plantable pencil with a biodegradable seed capsule at the end, which can be planted when the pencil becomes too short. The plantable version costs around €0.70 to €1.60 per unit, is an indicative price, and is usually laser marked to avoid adding ink.
